Are you tired of paying exorbitant hourly rates for attorneys with no end in sight? Then you’ll be pleased to know that we have abandoned the “billable hour model” and now charge flat fees for all legal services provided!

Why Flat Fees?

Most attorneys charge by the hour for the services they provide. What this means is that the attorney establishes an hourly billing rate, keeps track of the time s/he spends on a case and then sends the client a monthly bill calculated on the time spent (hourly rate x time spent = bill). Under this model, hourly-based attorneys increase their profits by either billing more hours or raising their hourly rate. This is unhealthy because:

• It rewards attorneys for inefficiency and, consequently, penalizes the skilled lawyer who completes a task quickly and efficiently
• It encourages long, drawn-out legal battles because they will increase the amount of time spent on a case
• It makes it impossible to predict how much the client’s bill will be each month
• It creates a conflict between what’s in the client’s best interest and what’s in the attorney’s financial interest

Flat rate billing changes all of this by allowing clients to pay fixed fees for results rather than for time spent. This has the effect of shifting the attorney’s focus from the time spent on a matter to reaching the goal to be achieved for the client as expeditiously and efficiently as possible. Clients will not receive a bill for services that is unexpected or for more than the amount set forth in the contract. If the attorney underestimates the amount of work required on a case, that should be the attorney’s problem, not the client’s.

No More Charges for Routine Out-of-Pocket Expenses

Most law firms will charge clients for routine out-of-pocket expenses such as long distance telephone calls, mileage to and from the courthouse, faxes, in-house photocopies, postage and subscription legal research fees. We do not. Our focus is on achieving the results you’ve hired us for, not devising ways to “nickel-and-dime” you to death.

Quality and efficiency are almost always more expensive than slow, mediocre service, but the old adage is often correct: “You get what you pay for.” We are by no means the least expensive law firm you can hire, but we don’t compromise on quality, we get the job done quickly and efficiently, and you know what it will cost you up-front.
